The recent tragedy in Haiti has many people thinking about how they can help the relief efforts. Peculiar People, a Gospel GoGo Band from the DC metropolitan area, had the idea of putting on a benefit concert, with all of the proceeds going towards relief efforts in Haiti. On Martin Luther King Day of this year, the concert was successfully held, raising over $5,000 for the cause.

This event was covered by WPGC, and held at the Community of Hope AME Church, where Rev. Tony Lee is the pastor. AMADI Magazine had the privileged of taking part in this benefit concert event that featured ACross Life, Reaction Band, Peculiar People, iWrite, and Backyard Band.

You can still help. Simply text the word “HAITI” to 90999, and $10 will be charged to your cell phone bill to be given to the Red Cross Haiti relief fund.
